Description
SCH401L: 401L Large Ceramic Folder, Carbon Fiber Handle
Schrade

The Schrade Ceramic knife series will knock your socks off the with their ultra sharp blades and unbelievably lightweight design. The blades are made of hi-tech ceramic, which is 100% non-magnetic and provides outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance. This does present the issue of brittleness in the blade with it being such a hard ceramic material. It is more prone to chipping and breaking in lieu of rolling or bending so be very careful what you cut with these knives. This model features a great looking, durable carbon fiber handle and a deep carry pocketclip. These are awesome, high value designs you're sure to love.

Pros: Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Weight, Handle Material, None
Cons: Blade Material, Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use
Great knife, a little brittle
Loved the knife, sharp, and light. It's Achilles heel is ceramic blades are brittle. Because it is a little stiff at the pivot point, (something I like in a folding knife, they only get looser). Unfortunately, when I use a stiff opening folding knife I start opening with my thumb, and finish with a wrist flip. After about 15 of those, and the blade snapped at the pivot point, so open gently.

Great knife
Great knife for the money. Action was a little stiff, but broke in quickly. Blade has no side play, razor sharp. Not designed for heavy duty use, but works great for light duty, I use it to open boxes, and packages at work, light as a feather, forget im carrying it. I would definately recommend this knife.

Cons: Blade Material
only good for opening letters
Knife blade is EXTREMELY susceptible to chipping even under normal use! after my first day of use out in the wilderness my SCH401L broke.... After a loud audible "Dink" the blade snapped clean off right at the thumbstud. It appears this knife is only good for opening letters and that is it......
