SCHF26: Extreme Survival F26 Fixed Blade
This Schrade Extreme Survival F26 fixed blade is almost the same knife as the F10 model but with a TPE rubber handle instead of Micarta. The knife features a thick 5.3" 8Cr13MoV high carbon stainless steel full-tang blade with a false upper swedge. The handle, being a thermoplastic elastic instead of Micarta, provides excellent purchase under any conditions and still features the adequate jimping in many parts of the knife. The Ballistic Nylon sheath has a pocket for storing small survival items or a sharpening stone. We here at find this to be a extremely heavy-duty, well-made knife at a great price!

Pros: Materials, Handle Material, Blade Material, Finish, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
First off, the knife does everything it was made for. The reason for a 4, not a 5, was the sheath material and the jimping is a little to aggressive. I feel a little bad about the 4, because the price is so cheap. The steel is not that expensive, but if it gets any harder it is not as tough, and becomes hard to sharpen, I like steel with that amount of carbon in it.It is a bit on the heavy side, but that's for chopping it does what it was made for and at a good price.

Sturdy workhorse.
The value for money on this knife is where it shines, strong sharp ergonomic are the things that come to mind, I needed a knife to use not look at and this knife fits the bill well. If i had any complaint it would be that a optional leather sheath for a few more dollars would be great.

My favorite do everything knife
I bought my F26 about a year ago and have continued to use it frequently for cutting, chopping and general yard work and bushcraft tasks. I love the recurve blade and deep hollow grind on this knife, and it's the perfect size for light chopping. Now to be honest, the handle design on the F26 has one design flaw - the gimping on the bottom of the handle can be uncomfortable when chopping. However, after about 10 minutes on my grinder that was all smoothed out and is now very comfortable. Now my F26 is my constant companion in the yard or woods.Pros:The hollow grind and recurve blade makes the F26 wonderful for fine work like making feathers and carving. The grind also makes it very easy to sharpen and hold an edgeVery strong tip design for stabbing/drillingThe weight and balance makes it feel nimble in handTPE handles are extremely comfortable for extended useThe .23" blade stock makes the knife strong and capableFor the money you really can't beat itCons:The sheath is about what you would expect from a budget knife, if you like the F26 you should plan on upgrading the sheath immediately. Also, as I said at the beginning you might need to do some modifications to the gimping. To me it was totally worth the work and I'm still using my knife.
