Steel Will Knives

The Druid from Steel Will is a multifunctional camping knife with a heavy blade and very comfortable handle. This knife is suitable for almost any purpose or use. The full tang construction is great for the durability of the knife, and since the tang is devoid of sharp corners it minimizes the potential strain on the construction. The Thermoplastic Elastomer handles have deep grooves ensuring slip resistance, even when handled with wet or slippery hands. The Druid is built for any task around the camp. This fixed blade sheath knife comes with a nice leather sheath.

Cons: Handle Material, Blade Sharpness
Great product, excellent value for money
A good well balanced knife. It does not feel too heavy despite the long blade and relatively short handle. Blade quality is great - well finished. Though the blade point is not as sharp as you would expect.Good, tough leather sheath.

Combat weapon not a chopper
This is a nicely presented, simply designed product. It's a slicer, cutter and even a useful stabber (should one require it) but not an ideal chopper. The reason is that the handle is insufficiently cushioned for this work, even though the blade stands up to it easily. I chopped through a 2.5 in diam pine branch - the blade didn't require sharpening afterwards but the jarring could be felt in my hand. And pine is easy wood to cut. Manuka will be a different story but I'll try it some day. I think the weight is there, though. That's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. But I like it immensely, even though it is more of a combat weapon than a camp knife.
