SOGST02: ST-02 SOG-TAC Auto
SOG

Our customers have been asking for us to produce a tactical switchblade for years. But we waited... because we wanted to do something really special. The SOG-TAC is an invigorating new design that looks like nothing else. It is big but relatively slim and is specifically designed for action. Blade travel is definitely fast and once open it locks up like a floor safe. The handles are made of machined 6061T6 hard-anodized aluminum. There is also: a safety button that double locks the blade in the open/closed position, our reversible bayonet style clip and a gorgeous upswept half-serrated blade. We think it was well worth the wait!

Pros: Handle Feel
Cons: None
Well built
Arrived dead nuts on time. Knife is well balanced, good safety lock, opens fast but not too fast. First impressions: well built, safety and actuation controls right where they should be, good finish. Point bevel dead on and razor sharp. This is a good knife and with a minimum of care will last forever.

SOG ST-02 SOG-TAC Folder AUTO 3.5" / My first SOG purchase
Used as an every day carry... Boxes/shrink wrap/rope/carpet/zip ties/plastic/animal skinning etc...I like the light weight and the blade stays sharp and requires just a few passes along a hone stone to bring back to razor sharp...Over all a nice knife.BUT... The release button is not a crisp release. Doesn't have a good feel and seems to release at different pressures is the best way I would describe. I never use the safety and find just from handling or even pocket movement may activate the safety then the knife will not open. Not the greatest situation if you need it quick and don't know the safety is on. Also as I mentioned I don't use the safety... It has opened up in my pocket of my dress pants more than once when I just drop it in my pocket if I'm in a hurry to stash it with out using the clip... NOTE: It has never opened if I use the pocket clip in dress pants or tighter fitting jeans FYI.Overall a good knife and I will continue to carry it until I find a replacement that doesn't have the issues I mentioned above.

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Blade Material
Cons: None
All you need
This has been my daily carry knife for years. With arthritis, manual folders are difficult to operate. The blade shape is unique and it is a very hard material that holds an edge well. The mechanism has worked flawlessly and the pocket clip allows for a low carry position. As a knife dealer, I can carry anything out there, but IMHO, the SOG-TAC cannot be beat.
