SP07GP4: C07GP4 Police Model 4
A mainstay of Spyderco's product line since its introduction in the 1980s, the Police Model is one of the most recognizable folding knives ever made. And thanks to Spyderco's obsession with Constant Quality Improvement (C.Q.I.), this design keeps getting better. The Police 4 features a broad full flat-ground blade crafted from Bohler-Uddeholm K390 particle metallurgy tool steel. Skeletonized full stainless steel liners, a solid steel back spacer, and textured G10 scales reduce weight while guaranteeing maximum structural strength and a secure grip in even the most demanding conditions. The lockback mechanism, four-position hourglass clip, and oversized Trademark Round Hole combine to create easy accessibility and fully ambidextrous operation.

It's yuuuuuuge!
It's bigger than you think from looking at the photos. The handle is 1.5" longer than my Caly 3.5's handle and the blade will grab anybody's attention immediately! For it's length, it's a relatively thin and light knife, so it fits in a pocket just fine, but if you clip it in the high-grip finish of the scales is going to wear out the pocket fabric in a hurry. I'm thinking about getting custom scales just for that reason. The blade sits off-center when folded and wasn't terribly sharp as delivered, but that's down to their Japanese plant. It doesn't affect usability, but I deducted a point for it. I've had way more luck with the build quality of Spydercos from the Taiwan plant. All in all, I can see why it's called the Police model: it's intimidating and a workhorse at the same time. I'm happy with it.
