Spyderco's Ethnic Series is a unique collection of knives that recognizes the world's distinctive cultural cutting tools by expressing them with state-of-the-art materials, manufacturing methods, and design flair. Designed by talented custom knifemaker Ed Schempp, the EuroEdge was inspired by Schempp's hands-on research in some of Europe's finest museums and his appreciation of the role that fullers—longitudinal blade grooves—had in the evolution of European knives and swords.

The EuroEdge's dramatic, near-symmetrical blade is precision machined from CPM S30V particle metallurgy stainless steel and features several fullers to reduce its weight and strengthen it. The blade's single cutting edge is balanced by a long swedge (unsharpened bevel) and Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole for quick, one-handed opening. The blade is paired with a handsomely detailed handle featuring polished, 3D-machined G10 scales and stainless steel liners that form the foundation of the knife’s stout liner lock mechanism. To ensure ease of carry and immediate access, the handle includes a pocket clip configured for right-side, tip-up carry.

Reminiscent of the style of classic Swiss daggers, the EuroEdge is a highly functional cutting tool that pays homage to Europe's ethnic knives with breathtaking fit and finish.

Great Knife
Hefty knife but easy to carry and deploy. I was never really a big fan after ZT and Microtech hit the scene. Spyderco has a Huge hit that will exceed zt and microtech!

The Euroedge does not disappoint!
With typical Spyderco fit and finish, this knife design by Ed Schempp creates the perfect folding dirk. I was surprised upon opening the box, even though I had read the specs, at how big and heavy this folder is. The blade flys open with a flick of the thumb and the satisfying “thwack” confirms a solid lock-up. One might think, looking at the polished G-10 and the dramatic double edged grind, that this is more of an art knife rather than a practical user. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve put this beauty through it’s paces, cutting rope, zip ties, whittling wood and breaking down boxes. Nothing proved difficult to this knife! To my mind, it’s a great EDC Blade that can serve as an excellent self defense folder too. But one. You won’t regret it!

Top class in the mass-produced arena
I only saw pictures of this model here on KC, and had to have one! As usual, I received it only 2.5 days after ordering it, and as other posters have stated, it is extremely well made and functional. I added this model to my collection of more than 400 folders now, and this model is certainly at the top of the heap. I have best quality folders from Benchmade, Viper, Fox, Spyderco, Brous and others, and have several models from Spyderco. My purpose for these knives is to study their designs, and admire their looks and other qualities. This Euro model is well worth the asking price. The ergonomics are perfect for me (I have XL hands), the design is beautiful, the manufacture flawless, as I can see NO machining marks or scars, scale to frame fit is perfect, there are no sharp or rough edges, and the blade itself is also beautiful, being nearly symmetrical, with fullers on both sides, and a very sharp blade on quality steel. NO excess blade play whatsoever. I have no negative remarks on this knife, and am glad to add it to my collection. I believe it to be a quality addition to the Spyderco line, an to my personal collection as well!
