SP41PBK5: C41PBK5 Native 5 Lightweight
The original Native 5 was an evolution of refinements in knifemaking with a bold G10 handle and nitrogen-hardened CPM-S35VN blade. The Native 5 Lightweight is the same knife but with FRN handles. The blade is PlainEdged and flat ground with a weight reducing spine-swedge grind. The Native 5’s back-lock embodies the steps of evolution in traditional back-locks. Back-locks were first introduced to the knife industry decades ago, transforming into more sophisticated, safer locks through improved manufacturing techniques. Today’s American made back-locks offer improved self-close, smooth action, solid lock-up and ease in push-release opening for a higher caliber of knife buyer in today’s market. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System on the Native 5 generates fluid action and consistent manufacturing tolerances. A four-way transport-friendly hourglass pocket clip adjusts to carry tip-up/tip-down and left or right-handed with a lanyard hole incorporated through the center of the clip where it attaches to the handle. The folder is fabricated with screw-together construction using larger sized Torx screws, easier to adjust and tighten. The Native 5 represents the maturation of American knifemaking capabilities in making everything sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and overall user comfort.
From Spyderco:

After exhaustive in-house performance testing and tons of end-user feedback, we have also decided to change the blade steel of the Native 5 from its current CPM-S35VN to CPM-S30V. This rolling change will be implemented as we exhaust our current inventory of parts, so some versions of the Native 5 will complete the switch sooner than others. However, the change will ultimately affect all standard G10 and FRN-handled versions of this popular model.

Slicing Machine!
I think that this is probably the best Spyderco pocket knife on the market when all things are taken into consideration. For roughly $100 it is a very big upgrade from a standard Delica with VG10. The ergonomics are amazing, and its thin flat grind blade will just cut all day long. It is so lightweight that it literally will disappear in your pocket. I have several Spyderco pocket knives...but I generally reach for the Native 5. Its amazing.

Fabulous to Carry and Use
This knife has pretty much thrown out all my other common EDC choices, since it arrived. I have small to medium hands, and it just melts into them. It is feather light in the pocket, and yet the FRN seems strong enough for most use. I personally find the FRN a little slick compared to G10, so only gave this knife 4 stars. It has seen light duties, cardboard and other packaging, since arriving, but the blade steel seems the best I own. It is said to be fine with a 15 dps edge, so that is how I sharpened it, and it is crazy sharp. Amazing slicer. Extremely comfortable knife to carry and use, it has tipped out my Endura, PM2 and Tenacious, which were my most common carries before this. Very glad I pulled the trigger on this knife.

It seems to be e precise, strong pocket tool.Pros:- lightweight, flat, small- superbe, precise quality and finish- good steel, cuts similar to 1095, but harder to wear, but needs more precision in getting scharp againCons:- a terribe, thick, disturbing clip. Went off at once.
