SP41TIFP: C41TIFP Native 5 Titanium Fluted
The Native has long been a standard in the Spyderco product line. Originally released in 1997, it blazed a trail as an affordable, extremely ergonomic, lightweight folder. Over the years, it has also evolved to yield several generations of the design, ultimately culminating in the Native 5.

The pinnacle of the Native 5's evolution and perhaps the most dramatic expression of the design is the Fluted Titanium Native 5. Precision machined from solid 6AL 4V titanium, its handle scales feature a stunning CNC-machined sunburst-pattern texture. They are mated to a spear point blade made from premium CPM S35VN stainless steel by a highly refined back lock mechanism that was the product of extensive research and development. The blade’s full-flat grind, distal taper, understated swedge, and forefinger choil complement the dramatic style of the handle, while providing exceptional control and cutting performance.

Proudly manufactured in our factory in Golden, Colorado, the Native 5 is assembled with flat-head Torx® screws that allow the use of a four-position hourglass clip. This enables the user to configure the knife for tip-up or tip-down carry on both the left and right sides of the body and makes the Native 5's operation completely ambidextrous.

This exquisitely crafted knife combines the enhanced function of the Native 5 design with stylish collector-quality pride of ownership. The winner of the coveted American-Made Knife of the Year award at the 2011 Blade Show, it is a shining example of Spyderco’s commitment to knifemaking excellence.

Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: Ease of Opening, None
Love it.
After weeks of research, I choose an EDC that would be suitable for a left-hander. I wanted something, beautiful, strong, and ambidextrous, something like a tactical/gentlemen’s hybrid that had more class than flash. To me, that’s the Native 5 Fluted Titanium. Changing the pocket clip to a tip up, left handed configuration, I can honestly say I love this knife. I didn’t buy it for display. I bought it to be my EDC. Compared to my PM 2, it’s got a stiffer opening but it’s also rock solid when locked. That solid metal “thwack” when it locks in place is awesome.Comparing the weight of the two knives, the PM 2 is lighter and opens with ease. However, the Native 5 Fluted Ti is only a fraction heavier. I keep tapping the side of my pocket to make sure it’s still there. On one hand it has a stiffer opening. On the other, the art, feel, and craft put into this knife makes it a 5 Star winner. Yeah, I love it.

Knifecenters "clearance" is laughable
Great knife but Knifecenters "clearance" is always a joke. This knife is the same price or cheaper on other sites on normal price.

Great knife… A little stiff
I just received his knife and I was thinking it was kind of my go out for a fancy dinner knife.I have to admit that my native one is what I prefer a little bit more although this is an incredibly beautiful knife with a good feel. I had some buyers remorse until I played with it for a day… No longer
