SPFB15P: FB15P Street Beat
Fred Perrin is a Parisian custom knifemaker, a former French Army Commando and a world ranked martial artist. His Street Beat fixed-blade knife reflects all three influences. Handle and blade are roughly equal weight. Where they join is a deep finger choil doubling as a hand guard. This spot marks the location of a balance point, sometimes referred to as a sweet-spot, making the knife noticeably responsive in the hand.

It's constructed from a full-length piece of steel set between Micarta handle scales. The scales are double pinned, expanding three-dimensionally on both ends offering the hand exceptional grip. The VG-10 clip point blade is double flat-ground with crosshatching called jimping on its spine that creates texture therefore tactile resistance against the skin of the hand and keeping the knife firmly in grip. There are two lanyard holes, a traditionally positioned handle lanyard and a small lanyard hole through the blade. Looping a thong or cord through the blade lanyard keeps your hand positioned forward on the handle even when swinging or chopping.

The Street Beat comes in a black Boltaron sheath with a G-Clip fastening system NOT the TekLock.

A “grail” knife you should buy
I purchased one one of these knives about 5 years ago. When I offfered my son, a martial artist, the choice of my collection, this is the one he took... It was my favorite. I finally bought another this year when they went on sale. This, as several reviewers have stated, is a “grail knife”. It was my favorite. Since my son was attached to his (his EDC) I bought another. How much more can you say about the quality of a knife? You should get one.

Incredibly surprised.
After years of carrying only folders I wanted to see if I could also EDC a smaller fixed blade. I defaulted to Spyderco due to their quality and honestly wasn't too impressed until I came upon this knife. Reading reviews and watching YouTube videos I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it. Holy hell was it worth it. Oddly enough pictures and videos seem to make the knife look both bigger and smaller then how it is in person. I have medium sized hands and this literally melted into my grip. The micarta handle is just a joy to not only feel and use, but extremely visually pleasing. It rides on the left side of my belt (I'm right handed) facing vertically and it completely disappears underneath even a basic t-shirt. The only reason I dock this knife is for its blade material. VG-10 is a great steel, however for this price Spyderco could have at least given us S30V. Had that been the case this, for me, would qualify as a production grail knife... However, it is what it is and it's fantastic.
