Description

SWZ13: ST Spartan Karambit

Schwartz Tactical

The ST Spartan Karambit joins the grim efficiency of the karambit-style knife with the functionality of a spear point blade. The 0.188" thick 6Al-4V titanium cutting edge is 3.375". The grip measures 4" and terminates at a 1.2" diameter finger ring providing a fail-safe forward or reverse grip. The handle is wrapped in 550 paracord and the Holstex plastic sheath is molded specifically to the blade for a great fit. A layer of tungsten carbide is applied to the blade to reinforce the titanium cutting edge. This ST Spartan Karambit weighs just 4.4 oz. with the sheath so it's light enough to be carried around the neck.

Not a fan of the sheath!
First and foremost titanium is not a great knife material, its actually softer than most good steels (despite being more durable) and makes keeping a good edge difficult. However the makers thought of this and inlaid tungsten carbide into the blade which I do like. But if you're like me and just want a titanium knife because is a "titanium knife" then its a great product. I don't like the sheath, it's a snug fitting kydex sheath but has no setup for a belt clip and seems designed for use as a neck knife. Now because its titanium it is light enough to be worn around the neck but it's a bit big to comfortably act as a neck knife (at least in my opinion). Also if you look closely at the picture it looks like the edge wraps around to the other side of the spear point, this is not the case, it is a single edged karambit. In the end it is a nice knife and I bought it because it's titanium!
