Description
TDSCKWKNBSW: Steelcraft Series Sun Tzu Kwaiken, Black Stonewash
Todd Begg Knives

Sun Tzu was a very famous Chinese military general who's credited as the author of The Art of War. When exactly he lived is of little concern, though often debated. His ideas on military strategy are some of the most influential ever put into text. Todd Begg honors Sun Tzu with his Kwaiken and put his own spin on this awesome design.

The Steelcraft Series Kwaiken is manufactured by Reate Knives in China to Todd's standards. His custom Kwaiken is just about the rarest and most expensive knife he makes. It regularly goes for over $5,000 and some up to $7,000 even $8,000! This semi-custom model is built to the same specifications as the original with the same ceramic IKBS pivot bearing system for unparalleled smoothness. This is a beautiful knife you can absolutely count on.

Reate hit it out of the park with this one. Todd did well to trust David at Reate to come through with a quality product and this is definitely it. It has the clean, straight lines reminiscent of all Kwaikens with a double finger guard and handle that is all Todd Begg. It's ergonomic, stout and beautifully milled from solid titanium. The fluting pattern is typical Begg styling and reduces the weight ever so slightly. The blade is slender and tactical, made from S35VN stainless steel with a dual finger guard to prevent you from sliding forward onto the cutting edge. The design features a replaceable steel lockbar insert, machined titanium pocketclip with Todd's ceramic ball detent and a milled titanium backspacer with integrated lanyard hole. This is a Todd Begg Field Grade level knife at a great price, don't miss out.

Semi-Custom
Semi-Custom
Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
S35VN
S35VN
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
Titanium Handles
Titanium Handles
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.

Impeccable
My copy of this knife is a clinic of outstanding craftsmanship. Reate is putting out some work that really makes you feel like you're getting a bargain. This certainly is not an inexpensive production knife, but there is not a detail out of place on this knife. I have seen midtechs and even some customs that don't flirt with the quality of this Begg model. If you are considering it, just get it, these things are outrageously superb.
