Master Chen Rong Liang is the founder and swordsmith of Zubeng Forge. He is currently the only person in all of China using traditional smelting technologies that date back some 1500 years ago in China. Much later these techniques were introduced into Japan to become the famous Tamahagane (smelted steel ball) from which the famous Tachi, Katana and other weapons were crafted. Master Chen creates swords and knives out of steel he makes from iron-rich river sand. The characteristics of these swords and knives are truly works of art and compare favorably with highly ranked modern smiths in Japan today.
