A Little Pricey... but a solid system
I purchased this system about a month ago, and all in all, I've been very pleased. It's not quite as easy to master as the utube videos make it seem, but my results have been pretty good. The thing I like best about the system is the repeat-ability. I can choose any angle for a particular knife (given it is greater than 15 degrees) and repeatedly and reliably hit that same angle every time. I would definitely recommend purchasing the next system up with the 800/1000 and strop blocks. I wouldn't really be happy with the results if I finished at 600. The other cool thing is reprofiling is a snap... at least compared to other systems I've used. I can rebevel an edge in about 10 minutes, while it may take 3 hours on the sharpmaker or gatco system. It's solidly built and will last a long long time. BUT... I've had quite a bit of buyers' remorse. It expensive. And when you start accessorizing... geeze! A great system if you have the money.
