WEK703D: 703D Folding Knife, Tan
We Knife Company

We Knife Company has been around the game for a long time but has only recently begun manufacturing their own designs. They started by manufacturing OEM designs for other companies and have gained a reputation in the industry as a name you can rely on. Their products are innovative, beautiful, and extremely well-built so you can rest assured you're getting a supreme quality product at a great price.

The 703 model from We Knife is a fantastic knife and, in our opinion, represents an incredible value for what you're getting. It is a very straight-forward, aesthetically appealing design similar to the popular 606 model. This is an amazingly feature-laden knife for its price point - it really feels like every other We Knife yet costs less than half as much. It flips open extremely smoothly and quickly since it rides on ceramic bearings with a nice thwack upon lockup.

The 3.74" drop point blade is made from D2 tool steel with a brushed satin finish. The properly designed flipper tab rockets the blade out and also doubles as a finger guard while open. The slender, ergonomic handle is made from contoured tan G10 with a liner lock mechanism and custom hardware. The slight curvature to the handle locks it into your hand perfectly for extended hard use cutting tasks while the slim shape makes it very easy to carry. The pocket clip, backspacer, screws, and pivot cap are all 6Al4V titanium for maximum quality assurance and you have a small lanyard hole to use if necessary. This is an excellent tactical design that can flex into an EDC role easily and effectively, proudly manufactured in China to extremely precise tolerances.

Worth twice the price
This was my first purchase of a WE knife. They looked great online, the few reviews that currently exist are stellar, and KC was selling these at about a 20% discount for thanksgiving. Let me tell you, they look better in person than they do online. A bit bigger than I expected, which is welcome. I’ve recently purchased a Spyderco PM2 (which is awesome) and a Benchmade 4300 (which is so so). I’ve seen reviews for both those which said they were hair shaving sharp when the buyers received them...mine weren’t...this thing was. The first time I applied a little pressure to this thing’s flipper lever and it glided open with ease and locked securely in place, I knew it was a keeper. I wish KC allowed users to upload pics, because if I could I would. It even came with some nice “case candy” as we guitarists like to call it. Nice fleece lined zippered pouch (which I’ll never use unfortunately), a quality, generously sized microfiber cloth (which I will), and a little “key” doodad to loosen the knive’s screws. The only gripe I have, and this may change with a little time, is that the titanium pocket clip is pretty tight. Solid purchase, will definitely partake of a WE knife again. From my end users perspective, the factory in China that manufactures these knives is on par with the factory in China that assembles iPhones. Pure quality, and after all, both are in the same province, Guangdong.
