Cons: None
Winchester/Blue Grass Cutlery/Utica Cutlery...
This Winchester branded knife was made in the USA by the Utica Cutlery company in NYS during 1992. They were made under contract by them for Blue Grass Cutlery, which had the licenced rights from Olin to use the Winchester trademark and name on these knives. The handle scales are made of a cast bronze. Carbon steel is listed as the blade material on the paperwork that came with the knife, (likely 1095). The quality is typical of a Utica made knife, which is to say, decent, but not outstanding. It's a USA made knife that is almost thirty years old, (new old stock). At the $20 price range they are at, they are a good buy. American made traditional pocket knife makers are very few and far in between. Utica still offers traditional pocket knives, but for how long. And as for bronze or nickel silver handles, like these being offered by KnifeCenter... Well, a DoDo bird product in todays modern knife age. Cool item to own as a collectable, or to have as a traditional edc. Would also make a great gift for a nostalgic type person that's into knives, guns, or hunting. The animal scene on this knife is very pleasing to the eye. A nice hefty feel, solidly made. Nice item.
