Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition Knife & Tool Sharpen
Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition Knife & Tool SharpenThis sharpen is well made and has the potential to return most knives to better than new sharpness. However, fast also means making mistakes just as fast. Some folding knives with opening studs are difficult to sharpen because the stud has to be removed or sharpen without the angle guide.Pressing too hard on the adjustable sharpening guide changes the cutting angle. Small pocket knives also make using the angle guide difficult. Large wide blades and straight edges work fine as long as care is taken to not overpower angle guide. This sharpen is easy to use and has merits of convince and speed. However, it does not replace the need for a good bench stone and set of ceramic sticks. Convex grinds are fine for making a razor edge however there is a question of using them on knives carried in wilderness areas. This sharper is not magic and without careful use could damage expensive knives. I like the idea of its design but doubt I will trust using it on custom blades any time soon.
