I own the "lasher" version which is just different stickers.Awesome machete, came with good utility edge which only required a few strokes with a file then a butchers steel to get it shaving. For $18.30 you can't go wrong

Good old South African engineering
I've been using these for 30 years. They're made in South Africa by a company called Lasher. Just about everyone there has one for use in the garden, and a backup weapon, or primary weapon.

great machete
No, it does not arrive sharpened. A good machete, does its job well, the handle fits great in my hand and does not slip. The shape of this type of machete gives you another option: you can sharpen the "hook" side on the spine (back) of the blade and make a pruning hook. I did this in addition to sharpening the main edge, and it works well when turned upside-down.

I wish it could have arrived sharpened
Beware! You will have to sharpen the item when it arrives. I received mine completely dull and I don't have what it takes to sharpen it:(

Excellent low priced machete!
This machete is by far my favorite machete I have owned yet. I never really thought of Cold Steel machetes as being an option. The price had always made me sceptical, but I was wrong. This Panga machete out-performed my other Ontario machetes (which I was not expecting) by far. Yes this machete does need a lot of sharpening. I spent about two hours just trying to put an edge on it, but my hard work payed off. This machete can down trees, split wood, chop, and cut through just about anything. It also makes a good tool around a fire. A lot of people have been mad about the handles on these machetes, I have medium sized hands and this machete feels better then the Ontarios did and does not want to fly out of my hands. Only real downside to the handle is that its huge! Though it does have an advantage in the fact that I can use two hands on it with out a problem. So overall a great machete that if cold steel put some effort in to, it would be a lot better. But all said and done I will be carrying this for years to come and if it gets broken, at a price twelve bucks I don't care. Note, this does not come with a sheath.

Nice Machete - Very Happy
This was a gift for my dad for Christmas, he loved it. It's a good Machete and weighted nicely. It arrives very dull, so be prepared to sharpen it before using it. So Far, no complaints.
