BH15TT00BK: Tatang

Tatang is a Tagalog term of address reserved for only the most feared and respected martial artists. In honor of this proud warrior tradition, we have made a knife that distills the savage cutting power of the traditional Filipino barong into a smaller, more versatile package. When gripped at the rear of the pistol-grip-style, thermoplastic rubber handle, the weight-forward balance of the Tatang's black epoxy-coated 1085C tool-steel blade gives it tremendous reach and chopping power. Choking up on the integral subhilt shifts the balance back for more controlled cutting, trapping, and backcutting with the sharpened false edge. Designed by edged-weapons expert Michael Janich, this incredible knife comes complete with a reinforced ballistic nylon sheath.

Happy I bought it!
I mainly bought this knife for the great looks and not for any specific purpose. I spend time in the outdoors from time to time and usually bring my Fallkniven S1 which i find to be the perfect companion. I do not think the Blackhawk Tatang would let me down either, although a bit too massive to be carried comfortably in the belt. The blade can med impressively sharp. As have been said before, the sheath is not of any great standard but making a custom sheath in Kydex will probably be an exciting hobby project.

Great COD knife
Great knife used in COD (not this one but the serrated one). Not much of a purpose but it is a nice heavy knife that allows you to hold it in a variety of ways. Really only great for chopping with. The sheath is garbage though, making it fairly dangerous to put back in and takes rather long to get out. Great knife, bad sheath.
