1st Benchmade
I've always carried pocket knives but never a Benchmade. This is a fine piece of cutlery. I use as a EDC and have used at least once a day in the field. The rear strike plate would be a valuable less lethal alternative in a defense situation. The feel and weight in hand is unequaled. Very well balanced.

Perfect knife
One of the better made Benchmades I have ever had the pleasure of owning! Lock up: solid Blade play: none! Sharpness: I tested it out of the box without sharpening it further, on some arm hair, and a simple press against my skin without even moving caused me to bleed. It was THAT sharp out of box! Probably the best sharpness out of the box of any benchmade I have bought and I have many. Heavy, but I like that. I didn't buy this for EDC tasks, I bought this strictly for self defense. Very easy to handle with the weight mainly in the back of the blade, so it is quick to slash with. Overall, if you are looking for a self defense blade, this is it.

My first Benchmade!!
This is first Benchmade, I've been holding off for the longest time to buy a Benchmade until I found knifecenter.com and the excellent prices they offer. I could'nt pass up the chance to purchase my first Benchmade under retail plus free shipping. The Bedlam is too awesome, its's weight and blade length are the two most features I like the most, the strike plate on the end is an added bonus. I use it at work, making easy work of breaking down boxes. This knife makes up for not being able to own the 8600 version.
