Hard to Draw Knife, But That's Easily Fixed...
Yes, the Nimravus is really difficult to draw from this sheath when you first get it. This is because, at the mouth/throat of the sheath, there are two plastic things (buttons? nipples?) that, when the knife is sheathed, hook into the handle itself. It's very secure, and you have to really want to draw the knife to get it out. There is a sort of latch (you can see it on the sheath in the picture; looks like a teardrop on the top left) and it's actually pretty useless because the nipple mechanism is what really holds the knife in place. My simple solution involved 120-grit sandpaper. I sanded them down until the knife came out with the force I desired; they're still there, just not as pronounced. Super easy. Low-tech. Sand, draw. Sand, draw. Until the sheath performed exactly the way I want it. Took about ten minutes.I would have given it five stars, but having to modify a product to get it to perform satisfactorily warrants the removal of a star. Still, though, it's a fantastic sheath and a beautiful knife. Worth every penny. Would absolutely buy again.
