BN5006LM: International Pocket Transit

The International suspension was introduced in the late 1970's as more field professionals found themselves working on projects throughout the globe. The International design effectively reduces needle "dip" when professionals travel to different hemispheres of the globe. Powerful Alnico V magnets are mounted to a polished, cupped sapphire jewel bearing, allowing for smooth needle movement.

Solid Addition to Your Engineering Kit
Received as a gift from someone who built their house with it & have always marveled at the quality/usefulness of info obtained from it(after reading the manual SEVERAL times). When reading from a tripod I suggest the optional mounting base(from brunton)to get the most accurate readings as they can be difficult to read the small numbers. Remember to take into account as a transit, east/west are reversed(for mirror viewing) and can confuse if used as a compass. Not everyone needs one but it is a purchase that will last several lifetimes(and structures) as the build quality is nothing short of a M1 Abrams. Kept in its case it will provide accurate measurements for decades to come and something to pass on to your future engineers if you raise one.

Quality Piece of Engineering
Bought it from a friend who built his house with its accurate measurements. Always a joy to use though reading it backwards takes a bit getting used to. The tripod a great accessory for precise readings. A quality device top to bottom
