Description
BO01BO043: Griploc Black
Boker

The Boker Plus Griploc is one more stroke of genius from Grant & Gavin Hawk, father and son custom knifemakers. This elegant pocket knife offers an intelligent handle design, consisting of several parts, which holds the blade open as long as you hold the knife in your hand. Just release the pressure on the handle, and you can easily close the blade. Additionally, the open blade can be permanently secured by a safety slider located at the end of the handle. The elaborate layout and design of the lever arm mechanism allows the unique handling and is the masterpiece of this construction. The 440C stainless steel blade is opened with the flipper. Includes pocket clip. With black coated blade and silver handle scales.

Good Utility Knife, Not So Great Defense Knife...
First off, the blade steel is AUS-8. It sharpens up great. I gave it a mirrors polish on my Wicked Edge, but that needed to be cleared up. It is mis-marked on the website. The knife feels lightweight in the hand. The locking mechanism is very cool. Super easy to use one handed for even the most inexperienced user. When firmly holding the handle, the blade has no play. The reason I say the knife is not suited for self-defense is because there is minimal finger protection at the heel of the blade and the handle is very slick. There is no grip on these aluminum scales. When wet, the knife is not very safe to use. I don't use this one as an EDC, but I keep it around the house, and it is very useful for opening packages and household cutting needs. Cool conversation knife. Very unique and fun to show friends. That being said, this is not the knife I would want in my pocket in an tight spot or a camping trip.

Innovative Design!!!!
All must realize that reviews are just opinions and sometimes the end user was expecting something else. I have to start and say that Grant and Gavin Hawk really are inventive and on the cutting edge of design. That being said, this slipjoint is a great modern effort. It behaves just as advertised and lockup is sure. Blade steel is sharp and also centers perfectly at rest. The blade though is not as robust as a duty edc should be. I think I hoped for more of a tank. Also, the scales are very smooth and not grippy at all. So, in essence, I am describing the perfect gentleman's knife, perhaps even edc for dress. All in all, I give 4 stars and have to recommend this 21st century knife to everyone. Thank you, Knife Center for a great offering.

Smooth
seen this knife at a amusement park not to far away in branson called silver dollar city.. as soon as the fella behind the counter put it in my hands i knew i had to have one of my own but wasnt paying amusement park prices so as soon as i got home i looked it up on knifecenter and ordered me one. came in sharper than the one from the amusement park in a pretty nifty case and the opening action is smooth like butter. super awesome knife for the money and couldnt be happier with my purchase.. yet again, thank you knifecenter for your awesome customer service and speedy deliveries.
