Boker describes this item as follows:
For the collectors and fans of our Boker Annual Damascus Series, we have created a very special piece for 2008 – a liner locking gentleman’s knife. Designed by well-known Austrian knifemaker Stefan Gobec, this knife features 300 layers of Damascus steel, hand forged by our Damascus bladesmith in the “Small Pyramid” pattern. For eye-catching contrast, we chose powder-metallurgical stainless Damascus steel in the “Small Roses” pattern for the bolsters, and breathtaking 3,000-year-old oak handle scales. To enhance the exclusivity of this piece, the handle spacer is made of stainless Damascus steel as well. This completely handmade work of art is strictly limited to 999 pieces worldwide, all serial numbered. Includes an attractive wooden collectors box and certificate of authenticity. Does not have pocket clip. Blade length: 2¾”. Overall length: 6¾”. Weight: 3.8 oz.
One of the older steel Capitals of the World: Solingen, Germany produces some of the best Kitchen knives and straight razors money can buy.
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
A layered steel that can be either carbon or stainless. The finished blade is acid etched to give it a unique design. Damascus is known for its toughness, and edge holding capabilities.
