Beautiful and very sturdy knife
I bought this knife in Germany as a gift for my son. I did not know what the handle wood was but I knew that it was beautiful and very nicely done. The blade is a very practical shape for skinning, but it is also just long enough, and certainly sturdy enough to use as a multi-purpose knife. 440c, when done correctly, is certainly adequate; you don't always need more exotic steels. The blade is beautifully finished, but I admit that we have not yet tested it on rough duties. The thuya handle feels somewhat sticky, which is very interesting, and has nice finger grooves. I tend to avoid "good looking" knives, but I gave in to the overall sturdiness and physical looks of this one. I hope and expect that my son will get good use from this knife long after I'm gone.
