Buck Knives

The Hoodlum is built to be the ultimate survival tool. Based on Ron Hood’s design and built to Buck’s quality standards, the Hoodlum helps ensure survival in extreme conditions. It is light enough to carry in a sheath, but heavy duty enough for any task out in the wilderness. The handle is built with a Shock Mitigation System (SMS) to reduce shock and wasted energy when chopping. It has a large finger choil for providing control while whittling or other detailed activities. A notch is cut into the blade spine for scoring bone, bending wire, removing pots from a camp fire, or other small tasks. Also, the Micarta® handles can be removed to create a spear by lashing a branch to the tang of the blade. There is an integrated hammer and lanyard hole in the butt of the handle and it comes with a M.O.L.L.E. compatible, heavy-duty nylon sheath. The Hoodlum will serve all your survival needs from protection to food prep while out in the wilderness.

This is my favorite camping/survival knife
This knife is amazing around camp! It makes quick and easy work of any task, firm splitting wood, cleaning game, and it even has a notch in the end of the blade to lift your coffee pot or Dutch oven out the fire!

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with this knife!!!
There's nothing wrong with this knife.Thick piece of 5160,that comes sharp, holds a good edge, and resharpens easy. The sheath is adequate, nothing special..As far as all the negative comments about breakage:ANY knife can break..If you disagree, call your favorite knife company, and ask them, they'll tell you..Anyways MOST,if not ALL knife Mfg.'s consider batonning wood ABUSE,and it neglects the warranty in the first place..So my advice is to take the negative reviews about the Hoodlum with a grain of salt. There's some people who have absolutely no idea what a knife is made for,OR even what their doing..If you want to play Daniel Boone, buy an axe,if you want a reliable large fixed blade, that will clear light brush, cut up large game, use as protection, and make a good overall knife, buy a Hoodlum.
