Fantastic woods knife for the price
Buck really hit it out of the park with this one. I loved the original stainless version as a spare knife to tuck away in my hiking day kit. As a 'survival knife' it's great on many levels. First it's pretty cheap so you won't cry if it gets lost. Next it's very thin and light since it doesn't have scales. Yet despite the lack of scales it feels good in the hand. It's eased/rounded to the point where it's very comfortable. It also comes with a serviceable sheath for such a cheap knife. Lastly it comes acceptably sharp out of the box. The orange traction coated version is even better. I've seen it in black but I love the orange! I attached a lanyard of orange paracord on my old one to increase visibility if dropped or laid down in the woods but this is ever better. It's hard to miss this lying in the brush! Buck seems to do a good job with the heat treat since these 140's hold their edge pretty well. Lots of bang for the buck, no pun intended.
