Not a Pocket Knife
I ride horses so I always care an assisted opening Buck. There was a great 2 3/4" blade years ago that Buck discontinued. When I lost my Rush and the Quickfire was available I jumped at it. It was larger with a better feeling handle and a solid clip and lock. I thought it was perfect. Unfortunately it isn't. The lock seems feels more secure being on the side and protruding so far past the plane of the handle causes the lock to be undone frequently simply by moving inside your pocket. I can't number the times when removing the knife for use the spring assist launched it out of my jeans and onto the ground by my feet with the blade extended. Totally unsatisfactory. Not as bothersome but still irritatiing the pocket clip angled end protrudes even more than on the Rush. I catch it on chairs and furniture much more often than with the Rush. Eventually it snagged so badly it was bent the clip to the extent that it was totally loose in my pocket and eventually fell out while riding and was lost. As much as I liked the blade and the handle the design is not as functional as the Rush. I would never buy another.

quick fire
I use it for cutting everything from wires the boxes like the spring assist and that easy to open one handed the pocket clip it stong enough that it doesn't bend every time it gets snagged on stuff..

A 5 Start EDC
Just had to give this knife 5 stars! First the knife is strong, fit and finish are first class. I love the external lock, at first a little stiff but after about 10 openings, smooth as polished glass! The ASAP assist deploys the blade at lightning speed; it's impressively quick. The blade is perfectly centered, sharp out of the box and the mid lock engages like a vise. The light blue scales offer a good grip. The knife is very competitively priced making the Quickfire a very good EDC choice. The Quickfire has a lot to offer at a very affordable price! The deployment of the blade is very smooth and quick and the external safety is easy to operate. The blade locks up securely and the mid lock disengages very smoothly. The knife is attractive and well constructed in every area. I've had no problems in extracting it from my pocket.
