Beautiful American made knife at the rite price
This knife was purchased as a gift for my father-in-law after our family stayed with him in Maine this summer. I own one of these knives and therefore I was familiar with the quality and wanted to get him something nice. Case are beautiful knives and it is even better that they are American made. Based on what I saw him using his old pocket knife for I suspect he will so the same with this i.e., working in the garden and as a general purpose tool. The detail on the knife is first rate and the blades are easy to sharpen and hold their edge well. This knife is also the perfect size for keeping in your pocket and goes un-noticed in your pockets as well.

CASE is the best
Nice compact size pocket knife. Blades are honed sharp, out of the box. Quality materials and workmanship.

Very pretty, unobtrusive pocket-sized cutting tool
It is a beautiful, very well made knife: the scales are an exact fit, the nickel bolsters are, too. There is no play at all in the blades and the half-way notch is solid. The two stainless steel blades are usably sharp, but I don't know how well they hold their edge, nor how difficult it is to re-sharpen them. I have other Case XX pocket knives with chrome vanadium blades, which will take a very sharp edge, hold it for a long time and re-sharpen quite readily. The drawback with these is that you have to keep the blades cleaned and moisture free (a wipe with a silicone permeated cloth every couple of days, or after each use), to prevent rust. I'm sort of building a collection of the amber bone knives, and the Peanut was only available with SS blades. Still, as a gentleman's knife; used for opening letters or potato chip bags, or for cutting package strings and cutting threads, it's just fine. Plus, it's so pretty that when you use it, people look at it appreciatively, and it's small enough that most people don't have any trepidation about 'the guy with the knife" at the office. I give it 5 stars because the blade material, is a matter of personal preference, not a reflection on this excellent product.
