Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, None
Cons: Finish, Overall Quality
one star for the sheath one star for the handle, both good. Now for the blade, no description was given with this product, just specifications, a sales pitch as no one would buy this if it was represented correctly, and how Joe Flowers could put his name to this !! Made from a stock billet of stainless steel the blade is beveled only on one side. this is uneven and veres to the left towards the tip. it is a rough grind and no attempt to tidy or polish has been made. The back side of the blade is flat and smooth but not polished, and the uneven grind looks awful. This knife appears unfinished and amateurishly made like a poor schoolboy project.I cannot recommend this product.

Another Condor High Value Knife
I just love Condor products. The common complaint is the finish is lacking. The truth is, I am willing to put the finishing touches on their quality products since it saves me 1/2-2/3 the price of some competitive products. Again, this comes with another outstanding leather sheath that is worth the cost of the knife. Sure, I had to spend 15 minutes putting the blade on my sharpening stones to get the edge finely honed. And once I did, what a beauty! I do not know what the others expected from this knife but I am confident it will do the job. The handle is a softer rubber, which might not stand up to heavy bushcraft work. Again, that is not the intention of its design. The rubber handle ensures a solid grip no matter how much blood might splatter on your hand. This is a dagger, meant for a single purpose; stab an animal to death. The design, material selection of blade steel, handle and sheath are excellent!

Pros: Handle Material, Weight, Sheath/Scabbard, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Materials, Finish
Hopefully this was one that sneaked through quality assurance. Not quite what I was looking for in a hog sticker right out of the box. Needed some work. The blade was dull, not polished and didn't even have a proper edge. Very disappointing as I have a Condor combat machete, the Hudson Bay and boomslang camp knives and a tactical tomahawk. All of them are outstanding values and came razor sharp with a nice polished edge. This was my first stainless steel blade from Condor, I hope that is not the reason for the lack of workmanship on this particular product.
