Condor Tool & Knife
The blade is made from German 1075 High Carbon Steel and are heat treated and annealed to about 56-58 Rockwell hardness. The edge is hand finished and polished to razor sharpness. Blade has the Condor natural finish which is a bare metal look, that has the appeal of a well worn pair of jeans. There is a special treatment over the top of the blade to help repel rust. The high impact poplypropylene handles are strong and virtually indestructible. These handles are molded directly to the machete making it impossible to separate. The tang continues to the back of the handle, with a metal lanyard passing through it for added strength. The ballistic Nylon sheath is much quieter than Kydex, and are MOLLE compliant. Condor's special sheath shop conducted research to find materials that would be sturdy, and each sheath is double stitched and reinforced for heavy duty use.

Pros: Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
This won a place in my pack
This thing is pretty sweet. It processes wood more like a hatchet or small axe. The shape of the grind is great and it comes super sharp out of the package. It also holds an edge really well. I was really impressed with how well it works given how light it is. It really is an ideal backpacking tool because it can replace both a hatchet and your large fixed blade. There is pretty much nothing you can't handle if you carry this and a small companion knife. The fact that the handle is orange is a big plus in my book. You aren't going to loose this on the forest floor in low light. The only downside for taking it into the backcountry is you will need to clean and oil it immediately after use. I processed some wood and left it alone overnight, it had rust spots just from the moisture in the wood the next day. A little steel wool cleaned it right up, but there is a price to be paid for that great edge that holds up so well - you really have to be careful about maintaining the steel. The quality of the steel is excellent, but it is most definitely not stainless steel so plan accordingly.

Pros: Materials, Handle Material, Blade Material, Finish, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Very good balance, perfect weight for a small chopper. Ideal for survival/bug out. Orange handle makes it highly visible when you drop it. even at night. the sheath is reasonable ,not very good and not very bad. The blade will outlast the sheath ,that's for sure.

Condor Tool & Knife CTK415-11HC Eco Parang Machete 11"
Use it in the woods, around the yard, Excellent Machete. Sharpens nicely. Nice handle. Just wish the handle was a different color. The sheath needs to be made stronger, once the blade needs sharpened the sheath cuts easliy.
