Pros: Handle Material, Weight, Sheath/Scabbard
Cons: Overall Quality, Blade Material, None
After reading the reviews of this machete, I thought it was just what I was looking for; the woods in the deep south are very thick with thorny wait-a-minute vines. A sharp machete with some reach is handy when cutting your way through the thick stuff. When it arrived I was disappointed with the blade. The first fourth inch (from the point) was terribly nicked as though it had struck something. As the edge continued toward the handle, there were many more deep nicks in the blade. I have never seen a new blade so badly scarred. The black coating was perfect and there was no rust on the blade so I assume it was not used. Also the handle was in perfect shape and very nice, exactly as promised. I expect more from a $100 machete. Perhaps quality control at Condor is not very good. At any rate, I will not purchase another Condor product.
