Ed Halligan has more KISSes for you. Pucker up. The original series is now available in black Teflon® plating. Not only is black the most popular color in knives in recent years, but it has real functional value. It is less reflective and creates a protective barrier against corrosion. So it is only natural that we would offer Knifemakers' Guild Member and K.I.S.S. designer "Daddy K.I.S.S." Ed Halligan's creations in black dress. Today's technology allows the blade, frame and clip to receive a special Teflon® plating that is tough and long lasting. K.I.S.S.® stands for "Keep It Super Simple." It's one honey of a knife, precision fine blanked for superior fit and smooth operation. Ed Halligan's unique two-piece construction features an integral Frame Lock, and a breakthrough design which seals the cutting edge against the handle. Blade and frame are AUS 6M stainless steel. A thumb stud is used to one-hand open the blade, and as the blade is fully rotated open, the Frame Lock snaps crisply in behind the blade to guarantee a sound lock-up. The blade can be closed with one hand, simply by releasing the Frame Lock. The K.I.S.S. in the Dark blade shape is Tanto-inspired Chisel-Point grind on the front and flat on the backside so that when the blade is closed onto its handle/frame, the precision fit effectively "seals" the cutting edge to the frame, even though it's exposed. Blade: Overall length: 2.25" (5.7 cm) Cutting edge: 2.25" (5.7 cm) Thickness: 0.12" (0.30 cm) Steel: AUS 6M, 55-57 HRC Handle: Closed length: 3.5" (8.9 cm) Weight: 2.2 oz. (62 g)

a bit of flash
My favorite kind of knife is plain, minimalistic, and working. A silver KISS was my everyday carry for years and before that a black Gerber that is almost a twin but with a tanto blade, of the PECK. The KISS and Gerber are two of the best carries I’ve had. The silver KISS sharpened a time or two is still as good as new; I just felt I “needed” the black version of the KISS. The black color gives this knife just a bit of flash.
