Chris Reeve Knives describes this item as follows:

The Sebenza is 21 years old!

Who would have thought back in 1988 that Chris's titanium handle folder would become a legend in the industry! Constant attention to design details and an unwavering commitment to quality in every aspect of the knife has created the Sebenza as a hallmark of excellence. To mark this amazing milestone, we are planning to make some changes to the lineup of Sebenzas.

We are going to stop making almost all Regular profile Sebenzas. The profile on the Classic will change slightly and this version will be known as Sebenza 21.

The design change on Sebenza 21 gives a more pronounced chamfer on the pivot edge of the handle allowing the knife to be inserted more easily into a pocket or sheath. The engraving of "Classic MM" on the back of the Classic Sebenza will be eliminated, making differentiation of the two models easy! The blade shape remains the same.

Bocote Inlay
A polished S35VN blade and satin finish titanium handles enhance the wood inlay Sebenza 21. A gold or silver thumb lug and spacer is chosen to coordinate with the color of the inlay.

Bridging the gap between hi-tech titanium and the organic feel of natural material is the Sebenza 21 with inlay. Each piece fits exactly into one of three pockets machined into the handle--two on the front and one on the back.

The fit of the inlay into the pocket is to extremely tight tolerance and the sections are retained with VHB™ (very high bonding) double sided tape. The inlays give a contoured feel to the handle and are as attractive as they are functional.

Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Weight, Sheath, Handle Feel, Blade Material
Cons: None
There is one major con to this knife and I will begin with that. Your significant other will call you all kinds of names for spending over $400 on a small folding knife! I have never experienced such a level of anticipation when opening my white box and unrolling the grey cloth wrapped around my new Sebenza. The craftmanship is amazing with absolutely no visible flaws. The blade is extremely sharp and the inlaid bocote adds a wonderful character to the handle - mine is lighter in color with a black grain pattern and yellow tinges. The titanium makes it very light and the blade action is super smooth. Overall fit and finish is remarkable and it is easy to understand why everyone always compares high end folding knives to their Sebenza. Benchmarks in their respective categories do not come cheap, but they are definitely worth the price!

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Sheath, Pocket Clip
Cons: None
Great fit and finish. The handles are darker than they appear in the stock photos and the wood is a bit darker too. It also comes with a lanyard pin. The action is a little stiff when it's brand new, but it (the detent, I think) breaks in quickly. It's easy to take apart for cleaning/lubing and to put together again, there are no instructions included though (take the blade out first and put it back in last). Be careful with the clip screw though. It's very soft. I ended up stripping mine with almost no force. I really like this knife. I see it as a luxury item (it was a gift for myself for an accomplishment). I use it for EDC.

Cons: None
None Better
This knife is, without a doubt, at the top of the list of my "credible" collection. The knife is almost like it is carved from one piece of steel; solid to say the least. I'm personally partial to the clip point blade style, so it goes without saying I like the shape of the knife. The blade is as razor sharp as it came from the factory. The scales appear to be part of the frame; don't think one could pry them out. If the price dosen't scare you, you won't be sorry - and art doesn't come cheaply.
