Emerson Knives
This is the legal, carry knife, you've been waiting for. Thanks to the request from my friend Harry, we now make a knife you can legally carry (in most areas) yet still pack a heavyweight punch. The blade is under 3 inches long - way under 3 inches. Yes, it has a full size handle, so you know you've got a real knife in your hand. This is the ultimate pocket protector.

The CQC-14 features our Patented "wave shaped opening feature" or Remote Pocket Opener. In an emergency or injury situation the knife can be opened with one hand as it is drawn from the pocket.

Great Knife, easy to open, hard to close
My EDC for the last 3 years is an Emerson A-100 full size. I had wanted the 14 (Snubby) for a long time and finaly ordered it "in stock" during Christmas '11. It's a great knife and the handle fits my medium hand perfect. The blade is just right for cutting things. Not too long and not too short. Typical Emerson quality in that it's able to handle anything you need a folding knife to do. The only complaint I have is that it's difficult to push the frame lock to the side to close the blade. I have a CQC-7 from '99 and it's perfect. The blade opens like lightning and locks open like a crowbar, the frame lock is easily accessed to close with one hand due to the fact it has a lot more of the titanium liner for the thumb to press on. Snubby needs a little more stickin' out for the thumb to dissengage the lock.

Feels like power in the hand. Solid construction. Legal in most all states. The irony is the large handle hanging in your pocket draws more attention then a knife with same size blade but smaller handle. It seems the blade should be much larger then it is when observed clipped on a pocket.Lanyard hole prevents clip from being mounted closer to edge of knife. This means 3/4" of butt hangs out of pocket. Little more then I'd like but no deal breaker. Wave feature takes a little practice. Sometimes it seems like blade clicks in open locked position; careful. Other times you don't wish to use wave feature and the wave still slightly catches pocket and partially opens; careful. Lock is tight, real tight. A little break in period will take care of that.

awesome knife
I wanted a good knife for edc, that could stand up over time, i use this knife for everything, edc, camping, hiking, everything except as a screw driver. the knife is just awesome. I like how it had a smaller blade, and it doesnt take away any cutting power in my opinion. The blade is razor sharp and stays that way for a long time. the handle is long, so you have a lot to grab on too, and it fits the hand great. all in all its the best knife ive ever purchased. its worth every penny, and i dont have a single complaint. i will give you a warning though, the knife does take some wearing in, i had to open and close it a lot to get it to were i like it. but with any great tool you need to break them in. I am very impressed with this knife and i am now a hard core EMERSON fan. Get this knife.
