Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Pocket Clip, Lock Type, Lock Ease of Use, None
Great medium sized general purpose blade!
This blade pretty much delivers as promised: it is a nice medium sized (3.5 inch) blade that is beautifully designed and ground to optimize strength and efficiency in both cutting and thrusting strokes and is shaving sharp right out of the box. The blade thickness and modified tanto point give it a lot of strength in heavy duty use. The handle is much more comfortable in the hand than may appear in the pictures. It does not feel rough, unfinished or boxey at all. The G10 is nicely finished and textured in such a way as to provide a very secure grip wet or dry. Additionally, the handle shape and jimping provide a very secure feel in forward, reverse and fencer's grips. It is perfect for my hand (#7 glove or Medium), though I question whether someone with a very large hand size (say, #9 glove or Extra Large) might find it a bit too small. The wave feature is new to me, and is stunning in its simplicity for deploying the blade on removal from a pocket. Of note, the pocket of necessity has to end sharply. This mechanism works perfectly in Levi jeans and conventional slacks, but not in 5.11 Tactical Covert Cargo pants as the pocket corners in these are a bit rounded. The button opener is easy to use, in that event. As others have commented, the liner lock seems adequate, but the knife would be generally improved by something more secure such as an axis lock. Also, the pocket clip is very tight, cannot be loosened, and is right-hand draw only which is a concern for those of us who can and sometimes do carry in the left hand.
