EMSKARAMBITSFRT: Folding Super Karambit
Emerson Knives

The Emerson Super Karambit features the patented "wave shaped opening feature" or Remote Pocket Opener. In an emergency or injury situation the knife can be opened with one hand as it is drawn from the pocket. The knife features a superior reinforced tip design to "beef up" the point and prevent damage to a very delicate point as on previous models. Second, Emerson has changed to using threaded standoffs rather than a solid backspacer as on the previous generation of models. This has added stiffness in the handle, especially in the ring area. Both of these changes have greatly improved the overall design and function of the knife.

Pros: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip
Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Like the knife but,
These are great knives. I like the new reinforced tip. The old design pointed tip was a bit delicate. The rough finish on the G10 scales is ok. I like to sand it down a bit and that's not really a problem. The one con I have is the sharpening on the blade was not uniform. The edge near the tip and the part near the handle where what I expect on an Emerson. The middle of the curve was not hair popping sharp. I did some touch up myself and it is fine now. Should not have to do this on a knife in this price range. A little better quality control would help here.

Great Knife
I was a little hesitant getting this knife having seen some of the reviews. However, I'm glad I got the knife. Lock and blade action felt great right out of the box.Only thing was that G10 was fairly course type and the clip was really tight. This made taking the knife out of the pocket and putting it back a little bit of a chore. I opened up the clip a bit and sanded down the G10 under the clip since this was going to a using knife anyway.Handle shape is my more ergonomic than some of the other karambits on the market.I will likely but another one so I can have an unmodified one in my collection.
