Pros: Effectiveness, Durability, Overall Quality
I love my EZE Lap Stone
I love the EZE Lap 3 by 8 inch stone in super fine/medium.The 3x8 inch stone is heavy enough that it stays put on the workbench. The diamond grit is perfect for sharpening my hardest knife blades. The medium grit is coarse enough to work out nicks on the edge, and fine enough for a primary bevel. Then I flip over the stone and the 1200 grit is perfect for putting a shaving edge on the secondary bevel. The 3x8 inch size is much more convenient for sharpening my larger kitchen knives and plane irons. The surface of the stone is very flat, and doesn't get dished like a natural stone, so its easier to maintain geometry. The only con is that the stone is pretty thin, so it's hard to hold thin bladed knives above the workbench. I can usually resolve this by setting the stone on the edge of the workbench so the handle of the knife is in empty space.I'm glad I bought my EZE Lap stone.
