GB000759: Gator Machete Jr.
Built just as tough as the Gator Machete, the Junior is shorter and more packable. The two-sided blade has both a fine edge for hacking brush and vines and a rough cut saw edge for cutting branches, limbs and small trees. It's a high-carbon steel shaft with a Gator grip handle. For backcountry travel, when every bit of weight is accounted for, the Gator Jr. is the right machete.

Pros: Handle Material, Weight, Blade Material
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
It has a role
Have given it light duty use camping and clearing brush; backpacking. The thin blade and construction make it light and packable but also limit it's capacity. Hard strikes on hard wood or at an angle could trash the blade. But the thin blade means the saw is useful, particularly if you carefully sharpen the teeth with a small file. And if you use the blade skillfully it can cut reasonably well. I always sharpen before first use. Steel seems medium hard. Best to have a small file or lap in the field for touchups. The sheath is adequate for purpose but a bit bulky. Kydex would be nice. Overall, it fills a niche for a light duty, compact, brush and light wood cutter.

Good Worker (for the right material)
I bought this model to use for home defense as well as for clearing non-wood brush from my home/campsite/etc....It is light in weight, and I like that. Combined with my Glock folding shovel, Glock battle knife and this machete, I feel I have the ultimate car/truck kit, in case I am ever stuck or broke-down in the middle of nowhere. I feel the construction of this machete lends itself to light work, and except for the saw spine, I will not be using it on wood, any thicker than 1/2 inch. I have not cut anything with it yet, but the blade seems very sharp, and the tines of the saw seem more than adequate for their intended purpose.
