GB5849: AR 3.0

There comes a time in a guys life when he might start thinking he has too many knives. But when you show him one of these, well, maybe he starts thinking that there's room for one more. After all, the AR 3.0 and 3.5 represent hybrid knife design at its best.

You're looking at the near-perfect combination of strength, balance, ergonomics, minimal weight, and a stylized look that can rightly be described as bad to the bone.

Sure, the AR models are easily opened with one hand. Sure, their mechanics are silky smooth. Sure, the pocket clip is the essence of convenience. And sure, they're built from a caliber of stainless steel that simply commands respect. But what you might not expect is the innovative blend of die-cast aluminum and Softgrip inserts in the handle. To a lot of guys, this is a must-have knife.

My Everyday Pocket Knife
This little knife is permanently in my pocket and has been for years. It holds its edge well, and gets used for everything that needs cutting. The one-handed opening was tight at first, but after a few dozen cycles it's smooth as can be. The blade locks firmly with no play, and although it's a small knife, it's very comfortable to use. This is the best general purpose pocket knife I've ever carried.

A Nice Knife But....
A nice little knife but with one big flaw: the thumb stud is too small, too slippery and too close to the frame. I have medium size hands and I have to exert a lot of pressure to open this blade with one hand. Any moisture and it's a two handed opener.
