GB7158: Gerber Emerson Alliance
Ernie Emerson designed this awesome defender of freedom that offers fully automatic deployment.

Ernie didn't earn his reputation as a tactical knife expert by cranking out crap. He expects Gerber to use only primo materials and components in building his namesake knife, and they certainly do. This knife is configured in such a way to achieve the speed and might that tactical pros require, while still protecting the user with features like the patent pending safety pin, which prevents accidental deployments.

The black oxide coated blade is of the 154CM variety, with a Rockwell Hardness rating of HRC 59 to 62. The exotic-looking handle is machined out of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which is as hard as it is tactile.

Cons: Pocket Clip, Lock Type, Sheath, None
excellent knife but.....
Got one of these with a plain edge when I deployed to Iraq. Fantastic knife, carried it for ten years. Only cons were, the spring broke after an estimated 10000 openings, the belt clip was always loose and the screws are impossible to tighten, even with the correct tiny torx bit I couldn't get a bite on the screws, and the safety button uses an o-ring as a detent. The knife accidentally closed on my index finger once and cut me to the bone. Eventually, the stud that the blade pivots on will wear out and get sloppy. Despite those cons, I'd still buy another one and rebuild my old one if Gerber would sell me the parts.

conflict between safty and engage button.
It's a great knife, I have the "06", as well as some benchmade autos, and over all I like it, only problem for me is the placement of the safety button to the "go", button. I'm ham fisted at best, and it's tricky to use.

Best knife!
I use the product for everything on a farm. It the most durable knife it has fallen out my hand many times and has stayed together. The down side to such a good knife is the price, but WORTH THE MONEY.
