KS1555TBW: 1555TBW Tanto Blackwash Cryo

The Cryo now comes with a tactical tanto blade—and our great-looking BlackWash finish for that already-broken-in look. This Kershaw-Rick Hinderer design is built of pure stainless steel that lets the design shine through. Like all Rick’s knives, the Tanto Cryo with BlackWash benefits from Rick’s real world experience as a fire fighter and EMT. It’s designed to be a sturdy knife that’s still aesthetically pleasing and feels good in the hand. The black-oxide BlackWash coating not only gives it that tried-and-tested look, it also enhances corrosion resistance.

For secure blade lock up, the Tanto Cryo with BlackWash offers a tough frame lock with lockbar stabilization. For fast and easy one-handed opening, it also features Kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening, accessible with either the built-in flipper or the thumbstud. Our deep-carry clip makes it a discreet pocket companion, too.

The Tanto Cryo with BlackWash is a superb knife for every day carry. You get a tactical tanto blade, a Hinderer design, SpeedSafe opening—and our new BlackWash finish—in this amazingly affordable Kershaw that’s destined to be your new favorite.
  • Flipper - May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.
  • SpeedSafe® - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Frame Lock - A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife.
  • Quad-carry - The user may position the pocketclip for tip-up or tip-down, left- or right-handed carry.

Pros: Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use
Great solid knife
The Cryo by kershaw is a great EDC knife at a great price. I like the tonto blade shape. The assisted flipper works good and sounds rewarding when it pops open. I use this knife at work to break down boxes mostly and carry it all day. It is a little heavier but it fits great in my pocket and feels solid when in use. I also upgraded it with blue titanium screws from Blades we Love I found them on eBay for about $16 and they really make it stand out. Great all around knife.

Cons: Ease of Opening
Kershaw knives are one of the best
Love everything about this knife except it is very tight. It won't open all the way with the assisted feature. Now maybe it's because it's still new but I have been working with it for a couple of weeks now and it has not improved at all.Other than that it's a great knife. That's why I only gave it a 3. Would have been a 3 1/2 but not a 4 because I need that feature to work much better.
