Description
KS1970: Kershaw Burst Folding 3" Combo Blade
Kershaw

The Kershaw Burst pocket knives live up to their name. This pocketknife series opens very quickly and have a solid feel with liners under the handle material. The knife blade style is very aggressive. The Kershaw Burst pocket knives are reasonably priced and well built.

From Kershaw Knives, "The aggressive, spiked look of the Burst is sure to draw the eye and plenty of positive comment. You’ll appreciate its SpeedSafe® assisted opening, which is easily accessed with a convenient flipper. Oh yes; and do notice that flipper. We’ve directed the blade grind all the way down the flipper for a sweeping line. The handle is injection-molded, glass-filled nylon; a stout locking liner secures the blade during use. The Burst also includes a reversible pocketclip."

Can't beat it for the price
I bought this knife maybe 3 or 4 years ago and I still think it is one of the best starter knives for the money. Very sharp right out of the box, not too heavy, very quick to deploy, and all around an outstanding EDC. Perfect for a gift to someone who doesn't have any knives. Best value for the price point.

Excellent all around
Very useful everyday carry had a few of these. Every so often I'll get a different model or brand but I always come back to this one. Feels solid, handle has good contours and blade retains edge even with rough use, lock feels strong. Great model all around

Perfect for me (a lady)
I was looking for a backup self defense knife as I left my old one at our summer home so as not to "lose" it at security check points. That one has a thumb stud so I wasn't sure about a flipper. But I have to say, I love this particular flipper. Before order this model, I purchase (and returned to Amazon) a Kershaw Leek mainly because the blade was very thin and the handle was so thin I had a difficult time operating the flipper without the knife slipping out of my hand. Also had difficulty with those triangular shaped flippers...this more is so easy to deploy. And the blade is hefty enough for everyday uses and impressive enough for warding off potential attackers. Planning on buying a couple more for friends.
