Kershaw Knives

Kershaw Knives and Emerson Knives have joined forces on a series of knives that combine the precision engineering of Kershaw with Emerson's uncompromising functional design.

The CQC-6K features a modified clip-point blade for versatile cutting ability. The blade has two finishes: a satin finish on the grind and a stonewashed finish on the upper. The handle's front scale of textured G-10 offers a secure grip and the handle's stainless steel back has a solid frame lock.

The CQC-6K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.

This knife design based off the Emerson Endeavor model without the thumb hole and the pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.
  • Manual - There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.
  • Frame Lock - A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

8CR13 Stainless Steel
Considered a value steel, 8Cr13 steel provides adequate corrosion resistance but with slightly more carbon than AUS-8, it will sharpen up and hold an edge better.
G10 Handles

Formed in a sheet under high pressure by combining fiberglass and an epoxy resin binder. These handles are lightweight and shaped to ensure a solid grip.

Pros: Lock Type, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Saw Knife Center had this one on sale and decided to give it a try. Nice knife! Sits well in the hand. A little handle heavy, but feels good. Decent grip on the G10 side. Locks up good and tight with about fifty percent lockup. No blade play in any direction. Shaving sharp out of the box. Opens and closes easily with the disc. I don't use the Wave much, but it works as advertised. Like the two tone finish on the blade. Feels good and sturdy, should give good long service. Thanks Knife Center for the great price. For $25, you ought to try it, I think you'll like it.

Emerson design for Kershaw price
This is an awesome knife for EDC and self defense/fighting. It may not be as durable as its Emerson made cousins but this is a good budget knife without any real sacrifice. Plus, the Kershaw Emerson knives are modeled after my favorite Emerson models that don't have both scales making them very thin compared to other Emersons.

Kershaw Emerson 6034 CQC-6K Folding Knife 3.25
For those who cannot afford a full price Emerson, this knife is an affordable alternative. The G-10 scale,Jimping and the Choil allow you to get a firm grip on the handle. The blade steel and blade shape makes this knife good for EDC, performing normal cutting chores. The wave feature is a plus.
