About LamsonSharp™
Lamson & Goodnow, maker of LamsonSharp™ cutlery, is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Lamson & Goodnow was established in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1837, and rapidly became the premier cutler in the United States.

But as the American passion for home and hearth grew, so did Lamson & Goodnow.

In 1999, Lamson & Goodnow purchased TreeSpirit™, a company that handcrafts professional-quality hardwood cutting boards, bowls, kitchen utensils, and kitchen care products.

HotSpot™ silicone for the home was added to the Lamson & Goodnow family of brands in 2002. Unusual at the time, silicone is now regarded as a staple of the modern kitchen for its high heat resistance, superior flexibility, and nonstick properties.

Pros: Overall Quality, Construction, Sharpenability, Sharpness, Durability, Material Quality, None
Cons: Design
I have wanted one of these knives for ages, saw this advertised, so I thought I'd try it, very useful for cutting, slicing and preparing all foods, only used it in domestic kitchen, supplied very sharp !. Would have liked a larger cut out as I have quite big hands.

Pros: Overall Quality, Design, Sharpenability, Sharpness, Construction, Material Quality, Durability
Cons: None
this has the same size and shape blade as the 'genuine alaskan' with wooden chopping board. The other ULU has a highly chromed blade with laser etched wooden handles that you feel bad about using. This one will fit the cutout holders and the dish for daily use.

Pros: Overall Quality, Material Quality, Construction
Cons: Design, None
Great workmanship
The quality of the knife seems excellent in every respect. Unfortunately, I will have to return it without using it. The opening in the blade below the handle is not wide enough to accommodate my fingers. The opening is 3" wide, but it would need to be 3.5" wide for all four of my fingers to fit in. (I wear a men size large glove.)
