Description
LNSR2AOB: SR-2A OB Black Blade, Orange Aluminum Handle
LionSteel

Small brother of the famous SR-1, this new SR-2 model is also mande from a single piece shell in Titanium or Ergal Aluminum. The blade is made of Sleipner, Huddeholm Sweden, and has 60-61 HRC of hardness. The knife has a ROTOBLOCK safety system patented by LionSteel. With a simple rotation of the RotoBlock you will fix the blade in open position. The toolbar has been reinforced with a hardened steel insert. This insert prevents the hard steel blade to wear out the final part of the toolbar. The supplied key allows you to adjust the blade screw and fix the clip. The screw clip is equipped with a glass-breaker. The Titanium versions come in a nice wood box, the Aluminum comes in a cardboard box. Design by Michele 'Molletta' Pensato.

Pros: None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
On second thought, and after attepting real-life use ... fail
This thing cuts like a dull butter knife. I was going to accept that it would not slice paper, I realize it's not a filet knife. But when I was working yesterday and tried to use it to cut rope I found out just how dull it really is. Cut some paracord? Nope. Hemp rope? Nope. Cotton fabric? Only if it's already rotten. For a brand new knife, this is not acceptable. For $180 they can't sharpen it at the factory? Please. I'll sharpen it and things will be fine, I hope. Until then I've got an expensive paperweight.

Pros: Blade Material, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Handle Material, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use
Not bad, but not as good or as sharp as I expected
Overall, this is a nice looking knife that appears to be well made. It opens easily and very smoothly and feels great in the hand. It locks up solid and tight, consistently. That said, it has some shortcomings I wish I'd known more about before buying it as an edc. First, the rotoblock -- it's loose and in a place where my fingers engage it when I open the knife, locking the knife inadvertently. I was able to fix this by tightening down the block and using loctite, hopefully that has solved the issue permanently. I can no longer engage it with one hand as was probably intended, but that's better than having it engage accidentally all the time. For a knife this size, I wish they'd have just left that feature off and trusted the job to the liner lock. The second problem is it's dull. It will only shave a little hair with some effort, and then not well. It will not slice paper at all. Even my two year old never-sharpened Benchmade blows it away in terms of sharpness. That's inexcusable in my book. So, all in all, I'm mildly disappointed in this knife. The issues it has can be addressed, but in this price range they should not be issues at all. I'll keep it. Hopefully with a good sharpening and some time it will prove me wrong in my initial impressions. If so, I'll try to remember to update this review.
