MEYXRAY3: X-Ray 18-3

The Darrel Ralph Design Meyerco X-Ray 18 automatic knife features the SAS – Slide Auto Safety. The SAS is one of the most innovative switch blade knife improvements ever! Most other safety designs require two separate functions to open the knife, if the safety is engaged as it should be! To deploy the blade, slide the safety up with your thumb then press down.

The SAS combines the safety and opening button into one mechanism. The blade opening, closing and safety operation require only one fluid motion. The SAS prevents the blade from accidentally opening or closing.

Cons: None
Better than hoped!
I'm notoriously hard on gear. I had a S&W Extreme Ops (got as a Christmas gift), that served me pretty well for several years, but finally died when the blade broke on some carbon fiber. Was looking for an adequate replacement, and saw a special on this one. Glad I didn't hesitate. The knife has been an amazing replacement so far. Fair warning, the blade is sharp. And it's not going to break.

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Lock Ease of Use, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Weight
I am a big fan of this knife. It's bigger than I originally anticipated and the safety is much easier to manipulate than many others that I have. The point is strong and holds up when I'm digging. The blade hasn't needed to be sharpened just yet and I've been using it daily to cut ropes. All in all it's a really great knife that likes to work.
