Mantis Knives

Mantis Knives describes this item as follows:

The "Evis-1" is a collaboration between Mantis and the USMC.

Adam Chavez came back from Iraq with an idea for a perfect karambit. We sat down and sketched out his ideas... what we came up with is what you see here today, right down to the price tag, Adam was involved during the entire process, and he was rewarded for his efforts by receiving instant celebrity status at our forum, but also he now carries the #1 serialized Evis-1 on his belt... but he doesn't have to carry it there... the Mantis Infini-Clip allows you to carry it virtually anywhere on the body.

Pros: Overall Quality, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Great Utility Knife
I love the knife. Well built. Easy to handle. It's in my pocket as a daily wear. I ditched the sheath. It doesn't hold the knife whatsoever. I recommend a custom sheath or wearing it in a different position without the stock sheath. That's my only complaint. If Mantis could come up with a secure leather side belt sheath, this would be the best complete package.

It's okay
I like the quality of the materials used. And the concept is nice also. However the sheath gives me no reason to feel the knife is secure as any bump may dislodge it. The finger ring is sharp edged and if used in combat may cut the user or collapse on the finger. It's an okay knife.

Good light weight emergency knife
My use for the MK-fs Evis is as a last ditch weapon housed on my chest rig. It is something that I can grab quickly with deadly results. It is not an every day carry knife for me, nor is it a knife that I would choose for general functions. The only problem that I have had is that the sheath is not quite as secure as I would have liked it to be --I have had to use tape to keep the knife secure --however, the tape easily tears off when I grab the handle and pull the knife. I hope that I never actually have to use this wicked tool, but it is comforting to know that it is there if I need it.
