Pros: Effectiveness, Ease of Use
Cons: None
It works
I'm not very good at keeping an edge on a knife and can barely get by with a sharpening steel. This works just as good as a steel, but because it's ceramic I get worried that I'm going to strike it too hard and break it. It's about half the weight of a steel and the grip is very comfortable hard plastic. There are deep grooves that run from handle to tip.

Perfect for a backpack.
I expected it to be larger when I ordered it, but found it to be the perfect size to throw in a backpack. It is very light weight and because of this does not feel very durable at first. However, after a few weeks of using this rod, I can say that it will put a razor edge on a blade (suitable for touch up jobs). I would not depend on it exclusively in the field for long trips only because I have yet to test it on a extremely dull blade yet.
