Cons: Blade Sharpness, Finish, Sheath/Scabbard
nice blade
I took a chance on this blade since i really liked their 12" machete. excellent blade can shop really good for its weight. its a 7 inch blade that feels like a 5" blade because of the grind its less metal. after honing the blade somewhat it will make firestick curls with ease. done som batonin with it but to early to say how it will hold up. edge seems sturdy and resistant to errors so far. its a mix of a middle size blade and a machete. its light enough to pack with you but its less mass then the usual choppers in this size behind the chops. because of ´the grind it will take more effort to baton logs but it will do it you just need to adapt to it. im impressed will buy more ontario blades after this.

Good knife
Good knife, not heavy for the size makes nice backpack knife for me. Comes sharp with a nice full flat grind. Wish the gap from blade to tang was big enough to put a finger in. And the sheath isn't very good. Only single stitched on the belt loop. Is really molle compatible either.

Great Knife
Love the balance weight and overall quality including the 5160 steel. Very good blade for the money. If your thinking about buying it get it. Shaving sharp out of the box. Lightweight chopper, camp, kitchen, carver, splitter all around versatile and worth it. I can do all my fieldcraft chores with this biggish blade easily and it is comfortable to use for long periods unlike some other knives I own. Excellent big blade hiker tool I can hammer tent pegs in with it. Chop small dead and down tree limbs with it. Fire prep feathersticks etc.. Agree with others about the sheath I suppose I will wear this one out or hope for a replacement soon from Ontario. The blade/finger guard is a nice feature but is a rubber or similar material and has a little flex to it. The kraton handle fits my large hands very well and is comfortable to use. When sweating though you need to be careful with your grip. I would have liked a slightly exposed tang at the butt for smashing stuff. All in all at this price point it is still a very good value. I kind of think of it as a mid priced beater that will see a ton of action.
