Great hunk of steel!
I love this knife! Use it for firewood processing. The heavy, sharp blade helps itself as you work, but is not cumbersome to use. Works well with small jobs too, the choil allows you to choke up for more control. Overall a great purchase.

Extremely fast delivery from KCI
I have been looking for a knife made in the USA, previously I owned a Recon Scout Carbon V by Cold Steel that I gave to family friend deploying overseas. As their Recon Scouts are no longer made in the US I had to search a bit. Plan on carrying this blade in my vehicle as part of my emergency equipment. Will also have it handy while camping, hiking, or cutting Christmas trees. Hopefully the SP 51 will preform as well or better than my old knife. Knife Center had my purchase delivered to this remote mountain community in an unimaginably short time (3 days). I can only rate it at 4 stars until I actually use it in the field.

Pros: Overall Quality, Finish, Weight, Sheath/Scabbard
Cons: None
This knife is the reasonably priced made-in-USA basic big chopper that I had been looking for. The sheath now comes with double snaps along the grip area, a great improvement over the velcro strap on the old spec plus sheaths that could barely fit over the handle. The knife is sharp and evenly ground on both sides, nicely weighted toward the tip, just what I like for limbing wood. I really can't say anything bad about this knife since I enjoy using it so much, and it's saving my pricier pieces from all the wear and tear. I have the SP50 as well, but, in my opinion, the saber grind on the 51 makes this knife all the better.
